Sticker 2 Newquay 1

Sticker entertained Newquay in their second Premier League game this time at home and in front of a fairly big crowd and created more goalworthy chances in the first half! In fact Newquay didn't have one shot on goal but nonetheless were very competitive. H/T. 0-0.

The second half started and Newquay kicking with the wind started off on the front foot to put the Sticker defence under pressure and within five minutes scored .After a defensive error the ball fell kindly to Tornado Bello who lashed the ball into the net. 0-1. Sticker stuck to their task and were looking the better team without getting much luck. Joel Cockings managed to nick the ball on the left of the penalty area and his perfect shot thundered off the crossbar and was cleared. Joel had had the best effort in the first half when he latched onto a long ball from Andy Avery and his shot flashed wide of the far post. Sticker finally got their reward that the teams hard work deserved when Joel and Matt Lloyd made a nuisance of themselves on the edge of the box and Matt finally lashed the ball into the net for a well deserved equaliser. 1-1. Newquay started to put pressure on the Sticker defence and with Tornado Bell now switching to the left wing where he likes to cut inside to unleash his power  each time he was thwarted by the resolute Sticker backline. Sticker still looking like they could snacth the winner eventually found a way through with two minutes on the clock when they were awarded a free kick wide out on the left and with Newquay forming a four man wall were unable to stop Frank McAvoy from unleashing a tremendous shot into the net leaving the keeper stranded. The players and home crowd were delirous and shortly after the excellent Referee Derek Fox blew the final whistle. An excellent and well deserved result for the Newbies in the SWPL Premier League..

Sticker 8 Mousehole 3

Sticker wrapped up their pre-season friendlies with a convincing win against Mousehole. The away team opened the scoring with a well worked move when Sticker had looked the more likely team to score. 0-1.Jack Bowyer soon had the ball in the back of the net to equalise then soon after when the very effective Chris Kilbey came on which changed the game  Jack added another for Sticker to take the lead. 2-1. Just before half time Ben Rosevear decided to get in the scoring act when from a decent cross he headed a fine goal! Alas it was past his cousin Rob into the Sticker goal, never mind Ben!! Sam Kenny had to be replaced due to a hamstring pull and it was none other than supporters favourite  Jack Walker who came on as if he had never been away. H/T. 2-2.

The second half started with Sticker taking control with Jack Walker and Matt Lloyd linking up well together and a chance given to Andy and Gary's new signings. Ethan Elwall in goal, Tim Piers and Jay Davies in midfield and Tyler Cheshire on the wing, Tyler played the whole game. The game progressed with Jack Bowyer adding another 3, Matt Lloyd cooly slotted one home and Tyler finally getting his reward with a goal for all his hard work. In between all this was an own goal. Mousehole also managed to score another near the end and the final score was 8-3 to Sticker to give them a  great confidence boost in preparation for next week first game in the SWPL Premier League away to Exmouth Town.
